Switzerland
As much as I love to travel (and as often as I've done this sort of thing), when it comes to actually booking the ticket I always feel a little bit nervous. Plane tickets are not only a lot of money, but oooh, there's the involvement of that 'C' word that I'm not so fond of - commitment! When I booked my flight to Switzerland this week on a total whim, there was no hesitation, no second-thoughts, no doubts whatsoever that my Christmas holidays would find me back in my favourite fairy-tale land. My return to my second home is long overdue.
The more my thoughts turn to cobblestoned streets, chocolate and cheese, the Alps and the smell of fresh coffee wafting from my grandmothers kitchen, the more excited I become for the departure date to near. There is nothing in this world that tickles my happy bones more than the anticipation of the adventure that inevitably happens when I leave far behind my day to day routines.
